The Voices of History Theatre Festival was first held in 1991 as a review of the performances of professional theatres in the unique setting of the historical and architectural ensemble of the Vologda Kremlin. It has long been a landmark of the Vologda Region, a favourite festival of all theatre-goers. In 2003, it received an international status. This theatre festival is held in June once in two years.
